Dr. Farhad Daneshjoo is a professor in the department of structural and earthquake engineering, civil and Environmental Engineering faculty. He holds a bachelor's degree in structural engineering from Queen Mary University (London) and a master's degree in Information Systems Engineering from South Bank University (Central London Polytechnic) and a PhD in structural engineering from Westminster University (Central London Polytechnic).

Dr. Daneshjoo was previously the chancellor of Tarbiat Modares University for five years (1010-2005), head of the Road, Housing & Urban Development Research Center for three years, head of the Institute of Research and Planning in Higher Education (deputy minister of Science, Research and Technology, for two years), founder and president of the Defense Science and Technology Research Institute for three years, and the presidency of Islamic Azad University (2012-2013) are among his executive records. He is the scientific reviewer of six scientific and research journals in the country, the director of the Asian Journal of Structural Engineering and also the director and editorial board member of the 'Omran Modares' Scientific and Research Journal (2002-present).

He has also been a member of various scientific committees such as the scientific committee for the review of 'Iranian Code of Practice for Seismic Resistant Design of Building Standards No. 2800' and the Scientific Committee for the Editing the Seismic Code of Iran's Railway and bridge carriageway, etc.
